Eurovision lineup 2019 completed as heads of delegation gather in Tel Aviv

Today, the Heads of Delegation from the 41 countries represented in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest gather in Tel Aviv to learn everything they need to know about the upcoming event on 14, 16 and 18 May.

During the annual Heads of Delegation meeting, representatives from all participating countries receive detailed information about the three shows, the venue, stage design, light and sound. They will also hear more about the event organisation, covering topics like transportation, accommodation and details about the Eurovision Village.

Following an introduction of the EBU's Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand, Zivit Davidovich, Executive Producer on behalf of Host Broadcaster KAN, welcomed some one hundred Heads of Delegation and Heads of Press to Tel Aviv.

he meeting, traditionally held in mid-March, also provides delegates an opportunity to get to know the organisers and discuss creative ideas around their stage performance.

With Israel's song revealed last night, the lineup of the 64th Eurovision Song Contest is complete! In the days and weeks to come, Eurovision.tv will introduce you to all 41 contestants, their songs and the behind-the-scenes preparations going on in Tel Aviv, across Europe and, of course, in Australia.

After a break in the meeting, 2018 winner Netta made a surprise appearance, singing an acoustic ballad version of A-Ba-Ni-Bi, Israel's 1978 winning song.

Also during the meeting, three positions in the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group were up for election. The Reference Group is the EBU's executive body of the contest on behalf of all Participating Broadcasters. Italian representative Nicola Caligiore from RAI and Aleksander Radić from Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO were re-elected, Swiss Head of Delegation Reto Peritz also got voted in. The Netherlands' Emilie Sickinghe from AVROTROS will leave the Reference Group after serving two terms. The newly composed Reference Group will get to work after the contest in Tel Aviv, when it will be joined by the Executive Producer of the 2020 contest.
